THE Story

Chicago Art Source was brought on to create, source, obtain and install an investment grade art collection in a private flat in London. The interior design showcases the collection of art.

Working in collaboration with Lucy Heathcoat Amory of LHA Designs, the vision for furniture, fixtures and materials and the overall art collection were created symbiotically. Each piece of art was thoughtfully placed into a precise location, including consultation from a lighting designer to ensure proper illumination.

All the art was museum-grade investment quality sourced from around the globe in New York, Los Angeles, Aspen, Paris, London and Berlin – lending to the residence’s elevated global feel.

Highlights from blue-chip artists include a painted aluminum piece from Keith Haring called Untitled (Three Dancing Figures), a collection of platinum palladium prints from Idris Khan of Buckingham Palace, the London Eye and the House of Parliament and a woodcut piece from Damien Hirst titled Isocytosine | Lactulose.

Chicago Art Source’s expert ability to work globally was not thwarted by the COVID-19 pandemic. With world-class partners such as Cadogan Tate for handling and Darbyshire for museum-level framing, we were able to manage via Zoom a seamless installation with 100% accuracy and satisfaction.

The end result is a stunning, unique collection of art in a private residence that the client is thrilled to walk into. With their constant global movement picking back up, they now look forward to returning to London each time to experience their dramatic and emotional space.
